Sunrise Processions
Sunrise processions have become an annual feature since 2000. That year it was organized from Gorakhpur to Madan Mahal. The following year the procession started from CMS Compound and concluded at Nirmala Church. selected Christmas carols are sung on this occasion harmoniously by one and all. Mr. George Francis has given admirable cooperation in this sphere.

Annual Christmas Carol
Annual Christmas Carol programmes started from the year 2000. Choirs and singing groups of different churches of the town get together and present the message of the Lord on this occasion. At the first gathering as the Chief Guest, Bishop Gerald Almeida urged the people to become poor in spirit and spread the message of Christ to each and every person of our society. The following year Dr. Ajay Lal, Director, Central India Christian Mission, was the Chief Guest who was given a thunderous ovation by the Christian Community of Jabalpur. Abbot Nicholas Ambrose of St. Norbert’s Abbey was present at this gathering. Dr. Lal declared that the CWF is a movement which is playing an important part in the awakening of people.

Easter Gathering

Easter gathering was organized by the CWC. The dignitaries of the town who were honoured on this occasion are: prominent literary figure, Mr. Mohan Rakesh, Vice-President of Sikh Sangat, Mr. Sohan Singh Reelh, President of City Corporation, Jabalpur, Mr. Raj Kumar Mehta, and Mufti-e-Azam, Madhya Pradesh, Maulana Mehmood Ali Kadri.

Beatification of Mother Teresa
Beatification of Mother Teresa was commemorated on November 25, 2003 in the YMCA Conference Hall. On this occasion a seminar and photo exhibition depicting the life and work of Mother Teresa was organized by the CWF. Bishop Gerald Almeida was the chief guest. Others who paid tribute to Blessed Teresa at this function were: Rev. Dr. Davis George, Principal, St. Aloysius’ College, Rev. Richard Rogers, Principal, Leonard Theological College, Sr. Anila Chako, Principal, St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Rev, Cyril Cornelius, Director, CARAVAS, Sr. Rosalin, Principal, St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sadar, Fr. Panka Toppo, Director, ZIDAS, Sr. Saramma Mathew, Manager, Marthoma Gram Jyoti, Sihora, Ramesh Paul, Secretary, Jabalpur YMCA and Bro. Lucianus Lakra, Principal, St. Gabriel’s School.

Homage to Rev. U. K. Singh
Homage to Rev. U. K. Singh was paid on January 12, 2004 at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral Centre. The sudden demise of Rev. Singh was considered a great loss to the CWF. Condolence was offered by Mr. Francis Joseph, Dr. Jitendra Parsadi, Manish Charles, Miss Pratima Das, Miss Amelia Nazareth, A. S. Francis, Sanjay Mathews, Vijai Maravi and Julius Nijami.

Bishop P. C. Singh’s installation
Bishop P. C. Singh’s installation ceremony was held on April 24, 2004. CWF took extra pains to give wide coverage of this event in the print and electronic media so as to make a larger section of our society aware that Jabalpur is also the diocese of CNI. Eight Foundation Day of CWF was celebrated on June 9, 2004 in the Assembly Hall of St. Paul’s Church. On this occasion Sanjay Mathews gave a talk on “The lord is my Shepherd. I shall lack nothing.”

Disciple Church Centenary Celebrations
Disciple Church Centenary Celebrations culminated on February 16, 2006. Rev. Joel V. Mal, Moderator, CNI New Delhi, Bishop P. C. Singh, CNI diocese of Jabalpur and Mrs. Lobo, MLA graced the occasion. Along with solemn worship a cultural programme was organized. At the thanks giving service held in November 2006, Brother S. R. Manohar delivered the homily. The event was reported live by the CWF through the print and electronic media.

Central India Christian Conference
Central India Christian Conference was organized on June 13, 2006 on the grounds of Disciple Church. Former MLA and Minister, Rahul Singh, Bishop Gerald Almeida, Bishop P. C. Singh, Senior Pastor of A. G. Church, Rev. Kishan Singh, Rev. Cyril Cornelius, Dr. Ajay Lal, Director, Central India Christian Mission, Damoh, Rev. Ajay Martin and Former Minister Ratnesh Solomon were the major participants at the function. On this occasion CWF members, Vijay Maravi, George Francis, Joseph Luther Hiwale, Mrs. Daisy Anthony, Literary figure, Mrs. Shivani Chatterjee, Mrs. Wendy Nair and Sr. Saramma Mathew were presented with shawls and medals for their distinguished services to the community. Notable coverage was given to the event through the CWF.

Mother Teresa was epitome of selfless service Almeida
Jabalpur, September 5, 2007. “MOTHER Teresa was epitome of selfless service, by her dedicated service for old, sick and destitute people she has set an example before all which is worth emulating, “said Bishop Gerald Almeida on the occasion of 10th death anniversary of Mother Teresa on 5 Sept. The programme was inaugurated with prayers at Nirmala Church, Ghamapur in which Almeida, Father Nicky Ambrose, Pall Vasi, Walter D’Souza and members from Missionaries of charity were present. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Christian Writers’ Forum distributed fruits at Anand Bhavan, Ghamapur, to mark the occasion. Manish Charles said that Mother Teresa established Missionaries of Charities that works for poor, sick and destitute people. On the occasion, Smt.Usha Lal, Rev. P B Lal, Christopher Khalko, Dr. Sachchidanand, Francis Joseph, Robert Francis, Monika Das and others were also present.
