Bishop Theophane, O’Praem was felicitated
Bishop Theophane, O’Praem was felicitated on June 29, 2001, in the auditorium of St. Aloysus’ School. This was the day when Bishop Theophane retired as bishop of the Diocese of Jabalpur and handed over charge to his successor, Bishop Gerald Almeida. On this occasion Archbishop Paschal Topno of Bhopal released CWF’s memorial ‘Arpan’ in which the writings and rare photographs of Bishop Gerald have been collected. Manish Charles presented Bishop Theophane the farewell address while Mrs. Biddie and Sanjay Mathew offered token gifts on behalf of’ the faithful. Dominic Nazareth and Joaquim Michael offered token gifts to retired Bishop Leonard D’Souza while Reggie David, Francis Joseph and Joseph Baptist honoured Bishop Almeida.

Dr. Michael V. D. Boegart’s Golden Jubilee
Dr. Michael V. D. Boegart’s Golden Jubilee was celebrated on completion of his 50 years of devoted services to India on November 5, 2001 at Jabalpur Press Club with the Mayor, Vishwanath Dubey as the Chief Guest. Working for the preservation of water, land and forest Dr. Boegart is a well known figure of Jabalpur who is presently the Coordinator of ZIDAS. Bishop Gerald Almeida, Abbot Nicholas Ambrose, Mr. Sohan Singh Reelh, Mr. Nawab and distinguished representatives of various communities graced the occasion. The valedictory address was read by Mr. Sanjay Mathew. Cecil Anthony & Associate, Engineer and Contractor, Jabalpur extended special cooperation at this function.

Abbot Nicholas Ambrose
Abbot Nicholas Ambrose of St. Norbert’s Abbey, Jamtara was honoured for his services on July 27, 2004 at Nirmala Church. On this occasion he was presented a shawl, fruit, medal and
address of tribute by Fr. Benedict Kerketta, Manish Charles, Francis Joseph and Sanjay Mathews.

On the occasion, President of the Forum Rev. P. B. Lal and Secretary Francis Joseph presented a momento to Bishop Gerald Almeida, MLA Loraine B Lobo and other guests, Rev. Kishan Singh, Rev. Dr. Cyril Cornelius, R. D. Lal, Vardhaman Kothari and Rev. Ajay Martin. Founder members of the Forum, Marshal Ekka, Dr. Vidya Rashmi, Dr. B. Sachhidanand, Amilia Nazreth, Pratibha Arahna, Smt. Urmila Singh were felicitated by Bishop Almeida. Members of the Executive President Rev. P. B. Lal, Secretary Francis Joseph, Treasurer Vijay Maravi, Vice-President Teresa Rodrigues, Dr. Jitendra Persadi, Usha Francis, Joint Secretary Manish Charles, R M Sahayam and Sanjay Mathews and were also felicitated on the occasion. At the end of the programme, Rev. P. B. Lal proposed a vote of thanks.

Archbishop Honour
18 June, 2007. M.P.-C.G. CWF honoured the Archbishop Leo Cornelio in Khandwa at Pastoral Centre on that occasion he cut the cake and a party was organised between the journalism course.

Central India Christian Conference
Central India Christian Conference was organized on June 13, 2006 on the grounds of Disciple Church. Former MLA and Minister, Rahul Singh, Bishop Gerald Almeida, Bishop P. C. Singh, Senior Pastor of A. G. Church, Rev. Kishan Singh, Rev. Cyril Cornelius, Dr. Ajay Lal, Director, Central India Christian Mission, Damoh, Rev. Ajay Martin and Former Minister Ratnesh Solomon were the major participants at the function. On this occasion CWF members, Vijay Maravi, George Francis, Joseph Luther Hiwale, Mrs. Daisy Anthony, Literary figure, Mrs. Shivani Chatterjee, Mrs. Wendy Nair and Sr. Saramma Mathew were presented with shawls and medals for their distinguished services to the community. Notable coverage was given to the event through the CWF.

Writers Forum releases Christians Directory 2007
Jabalpur, January 2 1st, 2007. THE Madhya Pradesh Christian Writers’ Forum on the occasion of its 10th Anniversary, released the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Christians Directory, 2007. The programme was organised at Disciples Church of Christ, CNI Church, Nagrath Square. Bishop of Jabalpur Catholic Diocese, Gerald Almeida was the chief guest while MLA Loraine B Lobo was the special guest on the occasion. The directory has been published for the first time which encapsulates the background of christianity and spread of catholic and protestant christianity in the country. The history of famous churches and christian institutions is also highlighted in the directory. Further, it contains information about christian writers,journals and magazines and organisations working for the protection of rights of the minority communities. Releasing the directory amidst a round of applause, Bishop Gerald Almeida said that writers are the building blocks of the society. They ought to shoulder their moral duties with more responsibility and commitment, he stressed. The programme began with recital of prayers by the Bishop. Thereafter, members of the Forum presented a song expressing their gratitude to the Almighty. Teresa Rodrigues and Victor Francis read out chapters from the Holy Bible. The Forum members presented another devotional song. Presenting the annual report mentioning activities carried out by the Madhya Pradesh Christian Writers’ Forum, Secretary Francis Joseph said that the Forum strives to work as a platform for getting writers together. Till now, he said, the Forum has taken ten steps in this direction. During the time, various social, cultural, literary and media related activities were carried out.
The Forum has spread its wings in many cities of the State, he added.
